ACS invites you to join us in bringing unique independent films to the mountains! Asheville Cinema Society (ACS) aims to inspire, enhance awareness of, and support new and seasoned filmmakers.
Asheville Cinema Society (ACS) aims to inspire, enhance awareness, support new and seasoned filmmakers and create a conversation forum for film in North Carolina. It is a membership organization attracting a broad and diverse audience. Carefully selected motion pictures include not yet released films from the top major studios, little known gems of the independent filmmakers, past classics and a variety of shorts. We also sell individual tickets to screenings, but memberships receive huge savings on a per film basis.
The 3rd Season began in June, 2012, and ends in December, 2012. We screen two unique, independent films each month. That means on two Tuesday nights at 7:15pm you get to see a film that is not coming to Asheville/WNC theaters.
We also operate the annual Asheville Cinema Festival on November 1-4, 2012. This is Asheville's only traditional independent film festival that brings in filmmakers and industry professionals for 4 days of fantastic films in all genres. In 2011, we premiered THE ARTIST (Best Picture Oscar winner) two months before it screened in Asheville movie theaters. LIKE our facebook page for the Asheville Cinema Festival!
